Vietnam-based. Mining-industry roots. Practical AM by default.
NJN Consulting is a small, deliberately practitioner-focused consultancy specialising in industrial asset management, reliability engineering, and SAP PM. Operated from Vietnam, working with industrial and mining clients across Asia, Africa, and beyond.
The asset management literature has a problem. Half of it treats the topic as a compliance exercise. The other half treats it as academic theory. Both miss what asset management actually is on the ground: an operational discipline that determines whether your plant runs reliably and your maintenance budget holds.
Asset management is a Tuesday-morning concern, not a quarterly-board-pack concern. The people who do it deserve a literature written in their language, with the operational specificity their jobs demand.
That's why we wrote the books. That's why we built the audit. That's why we run our consulting engagements the way we do — short, structured, capability-building, with succession out of the program built in from day one.
Johan brings 28 years on operating sites — open pit, underground, alluvial mining, mineral processing, and heavy industrial production — across Africa and beyond. His career has consistently focused on the same problem: how to take an operation that is reactive, firefighting, and missing its reliability targets, and move it to predictable, low-cost, top-quartile performance.
He is an experienced Reliability Engineer and Asset Management Specialist with a track record on rapid-results improvement programs. His skills span operations management, project management, feasibility studies, safety management systems, root cause analysis, and ISO 55001 implementation.
Johan is the author of the NJN Consulting Asset Management Series — eight books that codify the Practical Asset Management Framework (PAMF). The series was written for practitioners and has become the technical anchor for NJN Consulting's tools and consulting work.
For engagements that require additional capacity or specialist skills — large SAP PM rollouts, multi-site programs, deep CBM technology integration — NJN Consulting draws on a network of associate consultants. These specialists are introduced on a per-engagement basis, named in the proposal, and held to NJN's quality standards.
Most AM failures aren't strategic — they're operational. Fix the Tuesday-morning rhythm first.
You don't "achieve Stage 4" — you behave like Stage 4 every day.
Build the operating model first; pick the CMMS second.
The best consulting engagements end with the consultant uninstalled.
Practitioner knowledge shouldn't be locked behind day rates.
